Many major airlines arrive through the Juan Santamaria Airport located in San Jose.
Once you have arrived in San Jose, choose one of 2 regional airlines to reach Puerto
Jimenez.
The two domestic airlines that service all of Costa Rica are Sansa Airlines located at the
Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose, and Nature Air which departs from the Tobias
Bolanos Airport in the suburb of Pavas. Click the link to the left to check rates and times.
Both airlines request a check in time of 45 minutes prior to departure time.
To avoid an overnight stay in San Jose plan to arrive before 12:00 noon and depart on a
local flight the same day. If you do prefer to spend some time in San Jose we will be happy
to suggest hotel reservations. We also can arrange for our english speaking driver to
meet you at the international airport and transfer you to your hotel or a connecting flight.
He will meet you at the passenger exit gate with your name on a sign. Please give us your
flight and arrival information when you make your reservation with us.
Driving from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez is approximately an 8 hour drive. Leave early to
avoid traveling at night because the roads can sometimes be treacherous. The roads are
much better but stretches can often be full of ruts and potholes with narrow bridges and
have few if any signs for direction. A 4-wheel drive car is highly recommended and will
make your trip more enjoyable. Once you arrive in Puerto Jimenez you will see our sign at
the first crossroad. Turn left and you will see Cabinas Jimenez located right on the waters
of the Golfo Dulce.

Shuttle service is a shared transportation option in an air-conditioned minibus (or coaster)
between popular destinations. Shuttle routes operate daily, and in some cases there are
multiple departure times throughout the day. However, shuttles are by no means a public
bus. They are subject to availability and must be reserved in advance. www.shuttleosa.com
The cost is reasonable and the ride is beautiful!
From San Jose you can catch the daily bus that departs from Transportes Blanco,
telephone: 2- 257-4121. The bus station in Puerto Jimenez is about 4 blocks away from
our sign at the crossroad. Please advise us if you plan to arrive by bus and we will make
arrangements to be here for you. It is approximately a 10 hour ride but it is not unusual for
the bus to arrive late.
You can also reach the Osa Peninsula via a boat from Golfito. There is a lancha leaving
from the public dock every day around 11:30. You can also choose from many private
boat captains who will ferry you across the Golfo Dulce. There is no car ferry
